![]() | This is the North view - closest to the camera is the dining room/great room addition. The great room has cathedral ceilings, and leads out into the backyard/pool area. |
This view is from the driveway. This view looks into one of the two downstairs bedrooms. | ![]() |

This is the the kitchen from the great room area. I've replaced the microhood and stove and yet the yellow fridge remains! I'm planning to completely redo the kitchen this winter (sort of in progress now) - new floors, replace the remainder of the appliances and install a marble countertop. As you can see the kitchen is completely open into the den.
This is the view into the kitchen from the dining room. The kitchen remodel calls for the breakfast bar and sink to move three and a half feet to the right. So to sit at the bar the stool would be in the den, but tuck under the bar when not in use. And to be honest only guests use the bar when I'm cooking anyhow.
This is the view into the dining room from the den area - the dining room is also open to the den, which complicates and limits furniture placement! Originally the flooring in the den and dining was a light blue/grey carpet which did OK hiding some of the blonde dog hair, but was a nightmare trying to keep it clean with the foot traffic from the yard and pool. I installed an oak parquet in here - which I could not be more thrilled with! The table is a new addition and my most recent "grown-up" furniture purchase.
This is one half of the den - on the dining room side.
The same half of the den, taken from the dining room. The carpeting in the den was replaced with a 4" red quarry tile. Not only is this tile a snap to keep clean, but it plays well off the knotty pine walls in the space.
The other half of the den on the kitchen side. This nook is easily the coziest part of the house, it's a great place to read while the fountian runs in the background.
The same half of the den, taken from the kitchen.
![]() | The living room is still the least used room in the house. I've added a few pieces of furniture - the tables, etc. It's a slow process furnishing a house - by the time I finish I'll likely sell the place and build elsewhere...This is the view from the front door. |
Again the living room, this time from the hallway. The fledling trees are my indoor citrus plants - they are incredibly finicky! I often have to supplement their light this time of year or they drop buds and/or leaves. I must be doing something right though, if you look carefully there are a couple of little tiny fruit! | ![]() |
![]() | This is the yellow guest room on the first floor. I've been sleeping down here recently as Kasei mends the damage to his ACL (no stairs for doggie). |
This great dresser was a gift from my grandmother - it's stunning for it's age!
![]() | This is the upstairs guest room, with southern exposure plants just LOVE this room. |
The master bedroom as seen from the upstairs hallway. | ![]() |

From the Backyard....The addition in the back is the den. | ![]() |
![]() | Kasei in the foreground of course, new fencing and beginnings of landscaping just visable. |
Another shot of the most handsome Kasei, with more of the freshly deforested backyard. | ![]() |
![]() | View from the back deck. The right hand corner was heavily planted last fall with irises...we'll see what the squirrels didn't eat this summer! |
Another view from the back deck, looking towards the shady hammock corner. The entire planting bed is filled with day, asiatic, and oriental lilies with irises mixed in, hopefully the plantings will fill out this spring and summer. | ![]() |
![]() | Looking towards the house from behind the garage. |
The lovely apple tree and flowering crab in the spring - hummingbirds everywhere! I hope to spend some time this spring stalking them with the new digicam. | ![]() |
![]() | I can smell the blossoms and hear the bees already...c'mon spring I'm ready! |
