Balloonfest Kickoff Evening

Friday June 2nd ~ 7:00pm

The sky was pretty overcast with the forecast calling for rain. The air was totally still and heavy - not ballooning weather. I was just telling a friend online that there weren't any balloons this year and I suspected they hadn't launched due to weather, as soon as the keystrokes were made Murphy came inside barking loudly to report a violation of our property AND he was looking up - sure enough there was a balloon and several passengers just 30' above my back deck. While Murphy had a fit - I mean chased those floating invaders away - I took some pictures. Some of them I lightened, some are as they came out of the camera (though reduced in size). I may go back and enhance more of them, but they seem to capture the grey of the evening and the contrasting colors of the balloons.
